Job Summary:
This opportunity is for a Medical Surgical (MS) Registered Nurse (RN) position on the observation unit located in Newburgh, Indiana. The role involves providing patient care during night shifts, with experience in medical-surgical settings and trauma level II environments preferred. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of orientation.

Job Details:

• Location: Newburgh, Indiana
• Shift: 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM 7:00 AM
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Required Qualifications: Current active compact license; AHA Basic Life Support (BLS); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); Associate degree or certificate; two years of strong Medical Surgical experience; at least one travel assignment; trauma level II experience; recent Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience using EPIC; ability to insert peripheral intravenous (PIV) lines; manage stable drips (heparin, Lasix, Protonix); strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with PIV insertion, stable drips, and recent EMR proficiency.
• Float: Float rotation may be required within skill set, including to different campuses with a two-hour notice. Cross-campus float is possible but unlikely, with mid-shift float within the same campus.
• Additional Information: The unit has 32 beds with a patient ratio of 1:5 on days and 1:5-7 on nights. Excellent teamwork support from LPNs and CNAs. The facility may require precepting of students and new hires. The unit is a teaching hospital.
• Schedule and Submission Requirements: This is a night shift position. Certifications must be attached upon submission.
• Interview Days: Monday through Friday.
