Overview

The Operations Manager oversees all restoration operations, project execution, team performance, and profitability across the company. This leader ensures compliance with IICRC standards, drives efficiency, manages complex restoration and environmental projects, and supports strategic growth initiatives.

This role requires someone with deep restoration industry experience , strong technical knowledge, proven operational leadership, and ideally a book of business or strong industry network.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Oversight

• Direct daily operations across water, fire, mold, and environmental restoration services.

Project Management & Profitability

• Oversee job budgets, margins, and financial performance from start to finish.
• Review, approve, and optimize Xactimate estimates; ensure accurate scoping and profitable pricing.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews on complex or high‑risk projects.
• Resolve escalations involving adjusters, clients, subcontractors, or technical challenges.

Environmental & Compliance Oversight

(Informed by Derrick’s resume — this is a major differentiator)

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to asbestos, lead, IAQ, hazardous waste, and containment.
• Oversee safety programs, PPE protocols, and hazard‑specific training.
• Support environmental assessments and remediation planning when required.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and mentor project managers, technicians, and coordinators.
• Support continuing education, certification pathways, and technical training.
• Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, and high performance.

Client Relationships & Business Development

• Maintain strong relationships with adjusters, commercial clients, and referral partners.
• Ideally bring a book of business or leverage existing industry relationships to expand revenue.
• Support sales initiatives, strategic partnerships, and market expansion.

Strategic & Executive Collaboration

• Work directly with ownership to refine operational strategy, improve systems, and support long‑term growth.
• Provide insight into staffing needs, market trends, and operational risks.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
• Oversee scheduling, dispatch, job flow, and resource allocation.
• Ensure strict adherence to IICRC standards, safety protocols, and company SOPs.
• Implement operational systems that improve efficiency, reduce bottlenecks, and increase throughput.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years restoration industry experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Multiple IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT, AMRT, OCT, CCT, etc.).
• Strong Xactimate experience ; Xactimate Level 1–3 certification preferred.
• Proven ability to manage profitable restoration jobs and optimize margins.
• Experience overseeing complex or multi‑market restoration operations.
• Strong understanding of insurance processes, adjuster communication, and job documentation.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to pass background and drug screening.
