Outpatient Psychiatrist for Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (F-ACT) – Our Organization

We are currently seeking an outpatient Attending Psychiatrist to join our adult F-ACT team, situated in a newly established outpatient clinic on the grounds of the Valleywise Behavioral & Mental Health Center, an inpatient psychiatric facility with an emergency department located in Maryvale, AZ. The ACT program offers a comprehensive range of services to individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) who have insurance coverage. Our teams deliver thorough, community-based treatment to those facing significant challenges.

About the Role

This is a full-time position within a multidisciplinary, recovery-focused care team that serves up to 100 patients , ensuring manageable caseloads and highly individualized treatment. The team consists of:

• Psychiatrist

• Clinical Coordinator

• Two Nurses

• Medical Assistant

• Case Management Specialists

• Peer Support Specialist

• Education & Employment Specialist

• Substance Use Specialist

• Housing Specialist

• Two Administrative Team Members

This collaborative framework and limited caseloads foster personalized, patient-centered, and recovery-oriented services.

Academic & Teaching Opportunities

This position includes a faculty appointment (for qualified candidates) with both the Creighton University School of Medicine – Phoenix and the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix .

Teaching is a vital aspect of this role, which encompasses:

• Supervision and education of PGY-3 and PGY-4 Adult Psychiatry Residents

• Mentorship and instruction of medical students

• Active participation in an academic clinical setting

Qualifications

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Psychiatry, with an Arizona license required prior to employment
