Senior Production Scientist - Organic Synthesis

Senior Production Scientist at Thermo Fisher Scientific will lead small- to medium-scale organic synthesis operations in an ISO-regulated manufacturing environment. The role involves independent production of specialty chemicals, analytical troubleshooting, mentoring junior staff, and supporting new product introductions.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform organic synthesis at milligram to kilogram scales
- Manufacture specialty chemicals including crosslinkers, biotinylation reagents, and resins
- Perform in-process and final-product analysis using multiple analytical methods
- Troubleshoot reactions and process issues; lead root-cause investigations
- Train junior scientists and support new product introduction teams
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, Biological Sciences, or related field
- 6+ years laboratory or chemical manufacturing experience with Bachelor's; 3+ years with advanced degree
- Demonstrated expertise in independent organic synthesis and chemical production
- Proficiency with NMR, HPLC, TLC, FTIR, UV/Vis analytical techniques
- Experience in regulated, quality-controlled laboratory environments
- Ability to train and mentor laboratory personnel
- Safe handling of hazardous chemicals and production equipment
