RN Emergency Room

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. Unit includes an 18-room emergency department. Utilizes Meditech charting system. Cares for a rural mixed population including pediatric, geriatric, college students, soldiers, and mental health patients. Staff ratio is 1:4, and call may fluctuate based on acuity and department volume. Physician on staff 24/7, with mid-level coverage during peak hours throughout the day.
