Kennel Assistant

Job Description Job Description The Kennel Assistant provides daily operational support for our daycare, boarding, and grooming departments. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean environment, supervising dogs, assisting with pet care routines, and supporting the front desk team when needed. This is a physically active and fast-paced position that requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a genuine passion for animals. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Responsibilities Supervise dogs in daycare and boarding areas Feed pets and follow medication/feeding instructions accurately Walk dogs and monitor behavior during playgroups Maintain clean and sanitary play areas, kennels, and common spaces Clean up pet accidents throughout the facility Assist with bathing, brushing, and drying pets when needed Support front desk operations including answering phones and assisting customers Monitor pets for behavioral or health concerns and communicate issues to management Help maintain overall facility cleanliness and organization Qualifications Previous kennel, daycare, boarding, or animal care experience preferred Comfortable handling dogs of all breeds and sizes Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong communication and teamwork skills Fluent in English and Spanish preferred Basic computer skills Reliable, punctual, and professional Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable performing repetitive physical tasks Comfortable working around barking dogs, cleaning products, and pet messes Schedule Part-Time Weekends and Holidays Required Equal Opportunity Employer Luxe Pet Care is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected status.
