Registered Nurse IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the cardiovascular progressive care unit, focusing on post-operative cardiac and vascular surgery patients. Ensure patient safety, monitor vital signs, and manage complex medical equipment in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer appropriate medications and treatments based on physician orders.
  
  
• 
  Monitor patient conditions continuously and report any significant changes.
  
  
• 
  Manage and operate advanced medical equipment, including IV pumps and epidural systems.
  
  
• 
  Perform procedures such as chest tube management, epidural placement, and tube feedings.
  
  
• 
  Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record system.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Active RN license with at least 2 years of recent stepdown or telemetry experience.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate proficiency in managing cardiac and vascular patients, including post-surgical care.
  
  
• 
  Hold current ACLS and BLS certifications.
  
  
• 
  Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, team-oriented environment.
  
  
• 
  Skilled in the use of EMR systems, particularly Cerner.
  
  
• 
  Flexibility to work weekend shifts and participate in holiday coverage.
