Licensed Practical Nurse Full Time Professional Lafayette, TN, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1127 Salary Range: $22.00 To $28.00 Hourly Position Summary Under general supervision of the RN Charge Nurse, the LPN provides direct nursing care in accordance with the established policies and procedures of Macon County General Hospital in collaboration with the patient, patient’s family and other members of the health care team. I have reviewed these job requirements and verify that I can perform all essential functions of this position. I understand that information regarding patients at this facility is confidential and is not to be disclosed without written authorization of the patient or authorized representative. I will discuss patient’s information only in the course of my duties and never in open areas such as hallways, snack bar, etc., where it might be overheard by visitors or other patients, or outside of the hospital while off duty. I also understand that information in some patient’s records may be governed by federal regulation and that disclosure of such information is punishable by fine or imprisonment, even after I leave the employment of the facility. Position Requirements Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Tennessee as a Licensed Practical Nurse Education: Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program. Experience: One (1) year previous experience in acute care preferred. Special qualifications: BLS – health care provider. Good communication skills, both orally and written. Ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care. Degree of Supervision Required Involves general guidance and direction by Supervisors and Director of Nursing. The employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Ages of Patients Served Birth - 1 Year (Infant) 2-12 Years (Pediatric) 13-18 Years (Adolescent) 19-69 Years (Adult) 70+ (Geriatric) Working Conditions Hospital rooms, common areas, clinical departments and hospital grounds. Potential hazards include: None Some Frequent Very Frequent Exposure Hazards chemicals conditions, hot or cold Diseases Gases Heights mechanical parts Monitor electric shock repetitive motions magnetic energy other sharp objects Physical Requirements Must be able to climb, kneel, stoop and perform assigned duties under semi-stressful situations. Physical demands require performing heavy cleaning projects with short notice. Visual acuity is required in order to ensure that work is being done correctly. Work is moderately heavy with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds and more with assistance and pushing up to 300 pounds with assistance. Work also involves considerable walking, standing, pushing and pulling of equipment. Frequent lifting of patients with assistance. Personal Protective Equipment This position requires the use of personal protective equipment during various tasks/activities.
