  Job Summary: This position is responsible for design, develop, modify, debug, and evaluate business applications/programs. Produce deliverables related to the project(s) assigned, and assist in post implementation support and system enhancements.  As appropriate, utilize available technologies to design code and build solutions to meet business and technical requirements.  This position requires strong technical and analytical skills, clear written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail and coding best practices. Engage with the business at every stage, from design, through testing and then into production and support. Support the business in delivering a world-class customer experience to our customers by ensuring maximum operability of our systems. Applications uptime, response time and customer responsiveness are paramount. 

 
Duties and Responsibilities :   

· Solve programming problems to meet business requirements; 

· Translate detailed technical design specifications into computer program instructions, debugs routine programs, and prepare program documentation 

· Plan and coordinate critical systems and monitoring, analyze and recommend corrective actions for applications failures

· Evaluate system performance, investigate new technologies, recommend and coordinate the implementation of application processing or computer resource utilization improvements

· Ensure architectural integrity and consistency across the entire product(s).

· Conceive, experiment with, and present architectural approaches for software applications, including web, client, server, and others.

· Manage Sprint backlogs effectively and ensure Dashboards reflect all necessary metrics up-to-date.

· Coordination of end user support.

· Create solution options based on research of (current and future) system capabilities, standard processes, and industry trends / new offerings

· Assist business in leveraging (where advisable) standard process capabilities to reduce complexity and customization

· Provide detailed documentation (such as test plan design) in relevant work repositories and guidance and support to development, delivery, test and business teams

· Manage user and systems administration.

· Monitor systems and hardware performance and usage.

· Manage the system change process.

· Provides accurate estimates of effort and timelines for completion of assigned tasks.

· Reviews deliverables, provides input for other analysts, and supports knowledge transfer and ad hoc training of functional processes/systems

· Researches production issues and supports the Application Support group as needed.

· Assists business in articulating enhancements to resolve issues.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following education and experience:  

• 12 to 14 years of hands-on experience in application software development with a strong focus on Duck Creek Billing. 

• Extensive experience in the Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance domain, including proven success in Billing Architect and Technical Lead roles. 

• Deep expertise in Personal Lines Insurance, including Homeowners, Casualty, and Motorcycle products. 

• Strong experience designing, configuring, customizing, and supporting Duck Creek Billing solutions using Author, Express, and Server. 

• Advanced proficiency in ManuScript development, including configuration management, inheritance frameworks, and version control best practices. 

• Demonstrated experience integrating Duck Creek Billing with external applications and services using XML, XSLT, XPath, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON. 

• Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including the development, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex stored procedures, triggers, queries, and XQuery implementations. 

• Ability to provide architectural leadership and recommend design improvements that enhance application scalability, stability, maintainability, and performance. 

• Experience establishing development standards, conducting code reviews, and enforcing best practices to ensure high-quality solution delivery. 

• Proven track record as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), mentoring and guiding junior and mid-level developers on Duck Creek best practices, coding standards, and solution design. 

• Demonstrated ability to lead development teams while remaining actively involved in hands-on coding and technical solution delivery. 

• Strong understanding of P&C billing operations, including billing, installment plans, PCN processing, commissions, disbursements, and payment processing. 

• Experience collaborating with business analysts, solution architects, product owners, and delivery managers in Agile environments to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. 

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 

• Duck Creek Billing Configuration Certification is mandatory. 

• Experience with large-scale Duck Creek Billing implementations, upgrades, and production support engagements is preferred. 

•API framework experience as required 

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality solutions within project timelines.

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Applications, or related field from an accredited school and 10+ years of related experience.
