Position Overview

In this role, you'll operate a scale weighing aggregate trucks and help our customers as they pick up products. If you enjoy working with a tight-knit team, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in your customer service skills, you'll feel right at home here. Wage: $20+/hr DOE w/ potential for overtime. Location: Salem, OR - May travel to multiple worksites within the Salem/Stayton/Eugene/Corvallis area to support business demands.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Requirements

• Proficient with Microsoft Windows applications, ideally having exceptional typing skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to do basic math.
• Must be able to work overtime; potential for nights and weekend shifts as needed.
• Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel via telephone and two-way radio.
• Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
• Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with Supervisors, Truck Drivers, Heavy Equipment Operators, and other employees.
• Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.
• Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance and punctuality.
• Must pass pre-employment controlled substance testing.
• Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) - Ability to speak, read and write fluently a plus, but not required.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)

Ensure efficiency of weighing trucks across scale. Monitor load sizes of trucks. Service all customer pick-up business. Credit card procedures i.e.: Required to receive and log credit card sales from C.O.D. sales, and gravel tickets. Required to balance credit card sales to ticket reporting. Daily balance required. Communicate with loader operator via two-way radio to accomplish the loading of customers. Greet and assist visitors entering yard. Ensure site specific safety rules are understood and followed. Attention to detail is imperative in selecting correct truck, product, project, and customer. Travel between various work site locations (local) as needed. Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs. Regular and timely attendance. Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.

Work Environment: Office setting This position is largely sedentary; however, caution needs to be taken when lifting files, boxes, opening file cabinet drawers. To avoid injuries to hands, back, and neck, proper ergonomics should be maintained while working at desk/workstation. Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
