Inventory Control Specialist

Job Summary
Our client, a food distributor in the Bronx, is looking for an Inventory Control Specialist to join their team. In this role, you will oversee inventory accuracy, optimize stock levels, and implement process improvements to ensure the seamless flow of sales and operations. A detail-oriented, forward thinker who is analytical and tactical will succeed in this opportunity to join a dynamic company.
Monday-Friday, 10a-7p
Salary starting at $90,000, commensurate with experience
What You Will Do:
- Review, approve and/or manage inventory request through internal platforms.
- Work with sales management to ensure inventory requests translate into sales.
- Work with cross-functional teams to forecast inventory needs and identify potential stock issues.
- Manage inventory aging and coordinate proper rotation or disposal of obsolete inventory.
- Coordinate physical inventory audits and cycle counts with the operations inventory team.
- Collaborate with purchasing and logistics teams to optimize procurement and transportation processes in accordance with sales needs.
- Develop and implement SOPs for inventory management.
- Review and analyze inventory data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
- Analyze inventory data to provide forecasting trends, root causes of stock variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
About You:
- 3+ years of experience in inventory control or supply chain management within the food industry required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Solutions oriented.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work well in a cross-functional team environment.
- Experience working with an ERP system and inventory management software. Very proficient with Excel.
- Knowledge of inventory principles, concepts, and procedures.
- Multi-task within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail.
- Experience with inventory control, forecasting, and analysis.
