- Must have an OPT that can be active upon graduation and must be able to start working close to active date of OPT. \n
- Must be willing to continue education using Day One CPT program \n
- Be willing to work while attending future education. \n
- Must have education from United States and already be living in United States to be considered. Application should reflect. \n

\n \n \n \nWesley Medical Center: Acute Care Specialty, Orthopedic Spine, General Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Surgical Telemetry, Neuro Trauma, Acute Care
\nWesley Woodlawn: Cardiac Medical, Acute Care
\nPositions for sponsorship are limited to specific departments to get started. However, opportunities for advancement to specialty units are available after your first year of Residency.
\nStart Dates:
\nRolling start dates. Qualifications are a passed NCLEX with a Kansas license.

- December 7th and 21st \n
- January 4th and 18th \n
- February 1st and 15th \n
- March 1st, 15th, and 29th \n

The HCA Healthcare Residency Program is a year-long program designed to give you hands-on experience to help establish valuable clinical and critical thinking skills. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse you will be surrounded by a supportive community of nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents that promote learning, clinical application, and socialization, shepherding you through the transition from student nurse to registered nurse.
\n \nJob Summary and Qualifications
\nThe HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Wesley Medical Center provides you with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s hospital environment. This paid program will assist you with the transition out of the classroom setting through a formalized series of learning experiences, including:
\n- \n
- Advanced clinical training in a specialty area. \n
- Monthly educational sessions. \n
- Preceptorship training with a facility preceptor. \n
- Measurement and evaluation of skills through hands-on simulations. \n
- Mentoring from experienced nurse leaders. \n
- Working collaboratively on an evidence-based practice project. \n
The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN Resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN Resident serves as an advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience.
\nWhat will you do in this role:
\n- \n
- Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift as scheduled, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. \n
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. \n
- Perform the administration of prescribed medications. Monitor patient for therapeutic response. Notify provider and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication. \n
- Perform exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strive to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively. \n
- Teach patients, families and caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding. \n
What qualifications you will need:
\n- \n
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment \n
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment \n
- Other Certifications maybe required during employment \n
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program \n
- Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State \n
- No previous experience needed \n
- Some travel maybe needed for training \n
