You Are:A hands-on technical architect who has spent time on plant floors and in control rooms. You're as fluent in the language of IT and OT architecture, from ERP, LIMS, MES, SCADA, PLCs and historian systems as you are in designing modern edge to cloud integrated architectures. You understand how data flows across ISA 95 levels, and you've solved the hard problems that come with brownfield environments: aging infrastructure, proprietary systems, and the organizational divide between IT and OT. You know how to translate business requirements into technical architectures that actually work in production. You communicate clearly with plant engineers, IT teams, and executive stakeholders alike, not because you're a "visionary," but because you've built the credibility that comes from delivering real solutions in real facilities.The Work:Assess clients' current manufacturing technology landscapes, including sustems such as ERP, LIMS, EAM, MES, SCADA and/or historian, and define target state architectures that bridge IT and OTDesign platform architectures across ISA 95 levels, addressing connectivity from the shop floor through the enterprise, including edge, on premise, and cloud componentsBuild digital manufacturing roadmaps grounded in technical feasibility, sequencing investments against operational constraints like production uptime, legacy system dependencies, and cybersecurity requirementsTranslate plant floor operational needs into solution designs that engineering, IT, and business stakeholders can align onLead delivery teams through full lifecycle implementation, from requirements and design through commissioning and hypercare in live production environmentsServe as the technical authority on engagements, guiding clients through vendor selection, platform decisions, and build vs. buy tradeoffsTravel Requirements:Travel is required for this role and could vary up to 75%Here’s what you Need:Minimum 8 years working in or with manufacturing environments, with direct exposure to plant floor operations, production systems, and industrial infrastructureMinimum 5 years designing or delivering integrated cloud and edge platform architectures enabling Digital manufacturing use casesHands-on experience deploying AWS, Azure, or GCP solutions in industrial contextsBonus points if:Familiarity with OT cybersecurity principles, including network segmentation, Purdue Model concepts, and IEC 62443 awarenessExperience building business cases and presenting transformation recommendations to senior client leadershipStrong understanding of modern data architecture including Unified Namespace (UNS), data products, semantic layers and how these foundations enable AI-driven manufacturing use casesYou've commissioned Digital manufacturing use cases on plant floors, led factory acceptance testing, or managed integration across both brownfield and greenfield environmentsProven experience with microservices architectures, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), or serverless computing patternsDemonstrated experience deploying or piloting AI/ML solutions in manufacturing contextsAbility to communicate complex technical architectures clearly to plant engineers, IT leadership, and executive stakeholdersBachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years) work experience.
