Link Solutions is seeking a Telecommunications Outside Plant Mechanic II (OSP)to join our team at Fort Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield, GA

• Must be a U.S. Citizen  
• Requires a DoD Secret Clearance 
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Non-remote (relocation incentive available) 

The T elecommunications Mechanic II (OSP) will support the operation, maintenance, modernization, and reliability of telecommunications infrastructure serving the Southeast Region Cyber Support Center (SE RCSC). In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining mission-critical voice and data communications systems, supporting telephone switching equipment, voicemail platforms, outside plant infrastructure, and associated cable networks.

This position offers the opportunity to work within a complex Department of Defense telecommunications environment, supporting critical communications services that enable operational readiness and mission success. Job Responsibilities:  

• Perform administration, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting activities for telephone switching equipment, voicemail platforms, and telecommunications infrastructure.
• Configure, activate, modify, and deactivate telephone and voicemail services in accordance with customer requirements.
• Monitor system performance and conduct preventive maintenance to maximize telecommunications system availability and reliability.
• Diagnose and resolve telecommunications service outages, connectivity issues, and equipment failures.
• Respond to service requests and ensure assigned work orders and trouble tickets are completed accurately and within established service-level agreements.
• Collaborate with government customers to identify operational requirements, service improvements, and telecommunications modernization opportunities.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and test aerial, underground, and direct-buried communications cable systems, including fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cabling.
• Maintain and update outside plant infrastructure records, telecommunications drawings, cable route documentation, and as-built diagrams.
• Review and validate telecommunications installation drawings and construction packages, providing red-line updates and supporting documentation revisions.
• Support inspections of telecommunications infrastructure, including manholes, handholes, pedestals, communications closets, and remote communications facilities.
• Perform cable testing and verification using industry-standard telecommunications testing equipment.
• Ensure compliance with BICSI standards, OSHA requirements, DoD regulations, and industry best practices.
• Support telecommunications infrastructure upgrades, expansion projects, and technology refresh initiatives.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, service requests, inventory, and infrastructure documentation.
• Coordinate with technical teams, contractors, and government stakeholders to ensure successful project execution and service delivery.

Compensation:

• $30.92 per hour
• Full-Time (Monday-Friday)

This position is covered by the Service Contract Act (SCA). Compensation and benefits are provided in accordance with applicable wage determinations and contract requirements. Please see the Additional Information section below for benefit details.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance (clearance sponsorship available for qualified candidates).
• Five (5+) years of experience supporting telecommunications infrastructure, voice systems, outside plant operations, or telecommunications installation and maintenance.
• Experience with fiber optic, copper, and coaxial cable systems, including installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Experience working with aerial, underground, and direct-buried communications cable systems.
• Experience reading and interpreting telecommunications drawings, schematics, cable records, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of BICSI standards, telecommunications installation practices, and applicable industry regulations.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and telecommunications industry best practices.
• Experience utilizing telecommunications testing and diagnostic equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in good standing.

Preferred:  

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Federal Government, or military telecommunications environments.
• Experience administering or supporting telephone switching systems, voicemail platforms, and enterprise communications infrastructure.
• Experience maintaining telecommunications infrastructure documentation, as-built drawings, and cable plant records.
• Experience supporting telecommunications modernization, relocation, or infrastructure upgrade projects.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and manage competing deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with customers, stakeholders, and technical teams.
