No holidays!Receive training to become a Qualified Telehealth Technician with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs a Certified Medical Assistant Telehealth Technician, you will be responsible for providing a friendly, welcoming, and confidential environment for our Veterans by managing real-time telehealth events, providing instructions for patients, and providing technical and administrative support for telehealth operations. Key DutiesPrepare the clinical environment, which may include both medical and telecommunication equipment to be used for clinical examination and treatmentFollow the instructions of a clinician to facilitate an effective patient encounterServe as an imager and clinical data managerSave and forward telehealth clinical encounters including tasks such as capturing images, collecting data, and transmitting them electronically for clinical reviewInventory management, cleaning of clinical equipment and the care environmentComplete standardized clinical questionnairesMonitoring and maintaining schedules of rooms, patients, technologies, clinical providers, and presenters as needed to ensure efficient telehealth operationsInterviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in patient's electronic medical recordObtain medical histories from patients; verify patient informationPrepare, assist, and accurately complete all formsAdminister medications and operate diagnostic equipmentAssist providers during examinations and treatmentTake vital signs and perform all ancillary tests appropriate to skill level, certifications, and state regulationsPerform ancillary testing and tasks as ordered by the Center Medical Director (PFT, EKG, injections, audiograms, blood draws, etc.) and as certifiedCollect lab Specimens from patients and submit received results to medical providersComplete all clinical remindersAnswer and return patient telephone calls, messages, and alertsJob Requirements:High School Diploma/GEDGraduate of an accredited certificate programCurrent and active medical assisting certificationKnowledge of computer systems including the MS Office SuiteTwo years of continuous experience in clinical operationsBasic Life Support certification from American Heart AssociationCompletion of an approved medical assistant training program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), or by any accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or a current and active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
