Director of Nursing Surgical Services

A hospital in Benton, Arkansas is seeking a senior-level Director of Nursing Surgical Services to oversee nursing operations within the surgical services division. This is a fully on-site, in-person leadership role based at the facility location.

The Director of Nursing Surgical Services provides strategic and operational leadership across multiple surgical services departments, which may include Surgery, PACU, Pre-Op, Post-Op, and Gastroenterology. This senior leader is responsible for directing nursing staff, maintaining compliance with clinical standards, and driving the overall performance and growth of the surgical services division. The role demands an experienced nursing executive who can balance clinical oversight with administrative excellence across a broad scope of surgical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across all surgical services departments
• Direct and oversee nursing staff within Surgery, PACU, Pre-Op, Post-Op, and Gastroenterology units
• Ensure compliance with clinical standards, regulatory requirements, and accreditation guidelines
• Drive departmental performance through quality initiatives and process improvement
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation across the surgical services division
• Collaborate with hospital leadership to align surgical nursing operations with organizational goals
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for nursing within surgical services
• Support recruitment, retention, and professional development of nursing staff
• Monitor key performance indicators and report outcomes to senior leadership
• Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license required
• Minimum of three years of experience in a Director-level role required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing required
• Advanced degree such as MSN, Healthcare Administration, or MBA strongly preferred
• Experience working in PACU, Pre-Op, Post-Op, Gastroenterology, and Surgery preferred
• Experience managing 60 or more full-time equivalents preferred
