Services for the UnderServed (S:US) is hiring Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to support people with intellectual/developmental disabilities in living their best life in a safe environment. Join our team to start your career in social services while learning from the best experts in the field. Compensation and Benefits Salary: $19.00/hr (minimum and maximum) – overtime eligible. Flexible scheduling, 1199 union benefits, 10% internal promotion rate. Location 123rd Avenue in Jamaica Queens. In person. Responsibilities Provide habilitation services to each client as prescribed in their service plans. Assist clients in skill development in activities of daily living, domestic living, recreation and socialization. Administer medication to clients as assigned, following management, medical and nursing policies. Ensure clients’ nutritional needs are met according to prescribed diet, and assist with feeding. Report immediately any deficiencies or inability to provide habilitation services, abuse, or facility problems, including safety issues. Qualifications HS Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree preferred. One year of experience providing direct services to developmentally disabled persons preferred.
