Emergency Department Technician

Emergency Department Technician Position overview : Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as an Emergency Department Technician on-site in Norfolk, Virginia. Part‑time (24 hours a week), 3rd shift (7:00 PM‑7:00 AM). The role assists physicians, advanced practitioners, or nurses in implementing plans of care for emergency/minor emergency care patients and performs patient procedures and treatments under their supervision. Training and certification requirements : De‑escalation and physical intervention training within 15 days of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire for all incumbents. Education & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. One of the following certifications: EMT‑B with state or national certification at time of hire, successful completion of US Military Hospital Corps School (qualified MMAC candidates), or current student enrolled in a clinical program (e.g., RN, LPN, Respiratory, Physical Therapy) who has completed at least one semester within the program. Candidates with prior employment in the Sentara ED tech job code in the past two years will also be considered in lieu of the above criteria. Previous clinical experience.
