Job Description

The Facility Technician will support all facility maintenance activities, repairs, and improvement projects across company buildings and rental properties. This role involves assisting in defining project goals and specifications, coordinating internal and external resources, and ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards. The technician will obtain and review subcontractor quotes, monitor performance to ensure compliance with project expectations, and perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility systems, including pumps, tanks, air, water, piping, and exhaust systems. Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues as needed is a key aspect of this role. The position also involves providing day-to-day facility support, responding to emergency repair situations promptly, maintaining recycling and waste management programs, supporting safety programs, inspections, and compliance initiatives, and ensuring overall facility quality standards are maintained or improved.

Responsibilities

• Support facility maintenance activities, repairs, and improvement projects across company buildings and rental properties.

• Assist in defining project goals and specifications and coordinate internal and external resources.

• Coordinate with department managers and subcontractors to ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards.

• Obtain and review subcontractor quotes and monitor performance to ensure compliance with project expectations.

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility systems, including pumps, tanks, air, water, piping, and exhaust systems.

• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing issues as needed.

• Provide day-to-day facility support and respond to emergency repair situations promptly.

• Maintain and support recycling and waste management programs for the facility and laboratories.

• Support safety programs, inspections, and compliance initiatives.

• Ensure overall facility quality standards are maintained or improved.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of related maintenance or facilities experience

• Effective communication skills

• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and vendors

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Valid state driver's license required

• OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Matthews, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
