About This Role Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) working at Lafene Health Center provide nursing care to students within scope of practice as described by the Kansas State Board of Nursing including tasks and responsibilities under the direction of a registered professional nurse or a person licensed to practice medicine. What You'll Need to Succeed Minimum Qualifications: Requires six months of relevant experience. Must be licensed to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Kansas. Preferred Qualifications: Possess the cognitive ability to consistently and dependably engage in critical thinking, including the ability to: Exercise sound clinical judgment in a timely manner. Safely prioritize actions based on patient needs. Accurately perform required calculations. Accurately interpret data to determine necessary action. Possess the ability to establish professional relationships and maintain professional accountability in the legal and ethical realm, including the ability to: Act ethically and responsibly. Demonstrate compassion in patient care. Demonstrate mature and therapeutic relationships with patients and staff. Assume accountability for all actions. Demonstrate professional and appropriate verbal and nonverbal behavior in all settings. The LPN must possess good communication skills (oral, written, and electronic, including EMR) and be able to collaborate with all departments in a healthcare setting with clients of various cultural backgrounds.
