Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist

Location: Neptune, NJ 07754
Type: Contract
Shift: Day | 3×12 Hours
Time: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
Pay Rate: $2,000–$2,400/week
Openings: 1

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

• Minimum 2 years recent Cardiac OR experience

• Cardiac surgery scrubbing experience required

• Experience with CABG, MVR/AVR, and minimally invasive cardiac surgery

• Current Surgical Technologist Certification

• BLS – AHA required

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique, surgical instrumentation, and infection control

• Ability to anticipate surgeon and surgical team needs

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced cardiac OR environment

Preferred Experience

• Aneurysm procedures

• ECMO

• Impella procedures

• Lead extractions

• Advanced/minimally invasive cardiac procedures

• Scrub and circulating experience

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.

• Scrub for cardiac surgical procedures and provide instrumentation.

• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team.

• Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts.

• Prepare and maintain medications and solutions according to OR policies.

• Handle and label surgical specimens appropriately.

• Maintain strict sterile technique throughout procedures.

• Assist with decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization of instruments.

• Support the circulating nurse and surgical team with patient care.

• Maintain required competency documentation.

• Follow hospital, safety, and infection-control policies.

• Maintain a clean and organized surgical environment.

• Meet physical requirements including prolonged standing and lifting/pushing equipment.
