The Department of Medicine within our organization is on the lookout for an Infectious Disease Physician who has a passion for academic medicine to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will hold board certification or be board eligible in infectious disease and will receive an academic title that reflects their level of experience.

This position is a full-time opportunity focused on adult infectious disease, involving inpatient consultations along with one clinic day each week.

Key details of the position include:

  • A background or interest in hospital epidemiology is advantageous.

  • Responsibilities include diagnosing and managing a wide array of infectious diseases, such as:

  • Sepsis and bloodstream infections

  • Endocarditis

  • Osteomyelitis and infections related to prosthetic joints

  • Complex skin and soft tissue infections

  • Healthcare-associated infections and those resistant to multiple drugs

  • Inpatient care for HIV-related conditions

  • Opportunistic infections in patients with compromised immune systems

  • Infections related to surgery and medical devices

  • Experience in managing both surgical and complex medical patients is required.

  • Active participation in our Antibiotic Stewardship Program.

  • Collaboration with teams in hospital medicine, critical care, surgery, oncology, transplant, nephrology, and emergency medicine, as well as local community hospitals through telemedicine.

  • Weekend on-call duties expected at a ratio of 1:5.
