Job Title: General Production Worker Job Description

This role offers the opportunity to work as either a stacker or a builder in a manufacturing environment. Stackers handle lumber coming off a conveyor belt and organize it onto pallets at the start of the production process. Builders assemble boxes of varying sizes according to customer work orders, using hand and power tools and precise measurements to ensure products meet specifications.

• Stack lumber coming off a conveyor belt onto pallets in an efficient and organized manner.
• Support the beginning stages of the production process by maintaining a steady flow of stacked materials.
• Build boxes of various sizes according to customer orders and production requirements.
• Read and interpret work orders, including dimensions and instructions, to complete assemblies accurately.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to assemble and construct boxes and related products.
• Measure materials accurately with a tape measure to ensure proper dimensions and quality standards.
• Perform general labor tasks related to production, assembly, loading, packing, and packaging.
• Follow established production procedures and meet daily output and quality targets.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety and efficiency.
• Adhere to all safety guidelines, including proper use of PPE and equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate any issues that may affect production flow or product quality.

• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience in a production or assembly environment.
• At least 6 months of experience using a tape measure for accurate measurements.
• At least 6 months of experience using hand tools and power tools in a work setting.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders and production documentation.
• Ability to perform general labor tasks such as stacking, loading, packing, and assembly.
• Comfort working with lumber and other construction-related materials.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure boxes and products meet specified dimensions and quality standards.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Commitment to working safely and using tools and equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.

• Experience in general production, packaging, or construction-related work.
• Familiarity with conveyor belt operations and material handling.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with hand and power tools.
• Reliability and punctuality for consistent attendance on first shift.
• Willingness to learn new tasks and adapt to changing production needs.

You will join a small, close-knit team that values a family-like atmosphere and mutual support. The role is based in a small, family-like manufacturing environment with a wide open-concept layout that promotes visibility and teamwork across the production floor. Work involves handling lumber, operating around conveyor belts, and using hand and power tools for assembly and construction tasks. The dress code consists of jeans, a t-shirt, and steel-toed boots, with all necessary personal protective equipment supplied by the company. Hours are on first shift, running from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, providing a consistent daytime schedule in a hands-on, production-focused setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of OWATONNA, MN.

The pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.
