Med-Surg RN

Location: Brownwood, TX 76801
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: Day | 3x12 hours | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg RN experience — Required
• Travel experience — Required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Allscripts experience — Preferred
• Community hospital experience — Preferred
• Strong IV start, PICC/central line, and phlebotomy skills
• Telemetry experience
• Experience with wound care, respiratory care, CBI, renal patients, and post-op/orthopedic patients

Description:

Patient Ratio: 1:5
Weekend: Every other weekend | 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Call: 1 shift per 6-week schedule
Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a 13-bed Med-Surg unit with a typical census of 10–13 patients. Patient population includes post-op, orthopedic, diabetes, pneumonia, wound care, CBI, and urology cases. Responsibilities include IV therapy, central/PICC line management, respiratory care, feeding tube care, wound care, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring. The unit does not require telemetry monitoring or cardiovascular drips.
