ASSOCIATE COMPUTER SECURITY ENGINEER - CYBER RESPONSE – 1546 - SRS (Aiken, SC) Deadline: 5-28-2026 | Duration: 6 months with option to extend for six months and two additional 1‑year renewal options | Position: 1 | Citizenship: US required Job Summary Under regular supervision, assists with the investigation, design, and development of software and/or hardware security. Supports the security of SRS resources through designing, implementing, and evaluating measures tied to the NIST Core Cyber Framework: Identify, Detect, Respond, and Recover. Duties / Responsibilities Obtain safety training, obey safety rules, and ensure safety is integral to each task. Stop work if continuing would create an unsafe condition. Work with vendors to develop technical solutions for site computer security needs. Maintain the integrity of computer workstations, servers, and networks through access control and software lifecycle processes. Ensure data integrity and confidentiality by implementing encryption and data retention technologies. Increase technical abilities through vendor training, manuals, technical journals, software seminars, informational meetings, and practical experience. Ensure site/company policies and procedures align with customer requirements and are evaluated for effectiveness and proper implementation. Participate in group problem solving, communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical personnel, respect others’ ideas, and accept group judgment. Familiarize with available resource materials and conduct timely research. Seek help and accept guidance from senior technical personnel when appropriate. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Exhibit effective written and verbal communication skills, explaining technical findings to non‑technical audiences. Show ethical conduct and discretion when handling sensitive information. Demonstrate willingness to learn and adapt to changing technology. Work Hours A 40‑hour work week. Work schedules include 5/8s, 4/10s, and 9/80s. Each weekday has a 30‑minute lunch break. Overtime may be expected at times to meet deliverables. Required Qualifications – Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and 13–15 years of practical construction experience. Associate degree and 15–17 years of practical experience are considered equivalent. High‑school diploma and 17–19 years of practical experience are considered equivalent. Additional equivalent qualifications include 18 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, 20 years with an associate’s degree, or 22 years with a high‑school diploma. Knowledge of construction, cost and scheduling, subcontract administration, project management, and construction management. Experience Strong personal computer skills. Expert proficiency with automated accounting, cost management, scheduling, and estimating systems. Practical experience with Site Business systems. Multifaceted in all construction disciplines. Working knowledge of CAD and/or SmartPlant software. Experience with large construction projects and working with DOE/NNSA. Required Qualifications Candidate must obtain and maintain a DOE “Q” security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Experience with forensic tools such as Cellebrite, Magnet Forensics Axiom, or OpenText. Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst. Experience with security information and event management tools. Ability to assist senior analyst in conducting forensic examinations of digital devices, documenting processes and findings with chain‑of‑custody adherence. Experience preparing detailed forensic analysis reports for legal and other stakeholders. Experience preparing and updating policies and procedures. Collaboration skills with IT subject‑matter experts and cyber security response teams. Collaboration with team members on investigations, contributing to findings. Current with developments in digital forensics, cyber security, forensic law, mobile devices, and encryption/decryption methods.
