Senior Network Architect - Tencent Global Edge Network

Business UnitTechnology Engineering Group (TEG) is responsible for supporting the company and its business groups on technology and operational platforms, as well as the construction and operation of R&D management and data centers, TEG provides users with a full range of customer services. As the operator of the largest networking, devices, and data center in Asia,TEG also leads the Tencent Technology Committee in strengthening infrastructure R&D through internal and distributed open source collaboration, constructing new platforms and supporting business innovation.What the Role EntailsRole OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of our global network infrastructure. In this role, you will focus on our CDN and edge computing ecosystems, ensuring high availability, scalability, and cost-efficiency across various international markets.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitectural Design: Lead the network architecture design and operational management for global CDN and edge computing infrastructures.Optimization & Evolution: Drive the iterative upgrade and optimization of global edge network architectures to meet evolving business demands.Data Center Design: Manage the systemic design and deployment of edge data center (PoP) network facilities.Automation & Intelligence: Contribute to the development of automated and intelligent network O&M (Operations & Maintenance) tools to enhance operational quality and efficiency.Who We Look ForQualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field.Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin with international teams preferred but not requiredMinimum of 3 years of experience in architectural design for large-scale data center network infrastructure.Deep understanding of Edge Data Center network architectures and CDN requirements.Proven track record in edge network design foucsed on performance improvement and cost optimization .Familiarity with global ISP network architectures and workflows; ability to effectively analyze, locate, and resolve complex global network issues.Expert-level knowledge of Routing & Switching and TCP/IP protocols.Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell is preferred.Experience with large-scale internet CDN providers, ISP backbone networks, or hyper-scale data center architecture and operations.Deep understanding of large IP backbone networks and a passion for continuous technical deep-diving.Location State(s)US-Washington-BellevueThe expected base pay range for this position in the location(s) listed above is $137,300.00 to $257,400.00 per year. Actual pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Employees hired for this position may be eligible for a sign on payment, relocation package, and restricted stock units, which will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Subject to the terms and conditions of the plans in effect, hired applicants are also eligible for medical, dental, vision, life and disability benefits, and participation in the Company’s 401(k) plan. The Employee is also eligible for up to 15 to 25 days of vacation per year (depending on the employee’s tenure), up to 13 days of holidays throughout the calendar year, and up to 10 days of paid sick leave per year.
