RN – PCU / Stepdown (Travel)

Saint Louis, MO | Progressive Care Unit / Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12 (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 26 Weeks | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Progressive Care / Stepdown unit serving a 50% Medical / 50% Telemetry adult patient population
• Manage patients requiring tracheostomy care, mechanical ventilation, and vasoactive drips
• Perform and interpret EKG/cardiac monitoring in a telemetry-equipped environment
• Maintain patient ratios of typically 4–6:1 using standard telemetry unit equipment and EPIC EMR
• Float to other units as needed per standard facility expectations
• Participate in orientation on day shift for the full orientation week; expected to work at least one major winter holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's Day)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• EKG interpretation competency required
• 1+ year of Critical Care experience required
• Flu vaccination required November 1 – April 1 (approved exemptions considered)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with trachs, vents, and drips in an ICU or Stepdown setting
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Team-oriented mindset with a focus on positive patient outcomes and strong communication skills
