Job DescriptionCarlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are looking for a Project Engineer in our Dallas, TX market.Job Summary:This project engineer is to be involved with the implementation and installation of capital equipment and facilities, which include all phases from specification, design, and purchase through cost control. This position provides engineering expertise to aid the plant engineering and maintenance department, process/development engineering, and/or operating departments in the solution of technical problems. Technical assistance will be manifested in the refinement and optimization of manufacturing equipment/facilities. A practical level of understanding of mechanical/electrical engineering principles is to be applied to the assigned project work. Key systems to be delivered include overall piping and instrumentation, and process designs to facility systems supporting manufacturing locations. The individual is to be provided with moderate task definition, supervision, and technical/process-related advice throughout the execution of assignments. Typically, some but minimal overall project responsibility will be delegated.Duties and Responsibilities:Recommend, specify, and procure facilities and equipment for the implementation of projects.Size, calculate, and design facilities and equipment to ensure proper applicationDevelop accurate cost estimates and schedules to control costs and provide for the timely completion of projectsInstall and start up equipment, provide field supervision, and follow up to complete facilities in a timely mannerProvide project documentation (Scope, budget, purchase orders, contracts, reports) to maintain good records and data for similar future projectsLeads the deployment of best practice process improvement methodologies across the Plant.Ability to train and lead improvement activities with operators, maintenance personnel, and the engineering department.Introduces process improvements to maximize output, efficiency, and to reduce cost.Develops new systems to improve workflowFixes process defectsPromotes and practices safety and good housekeepingSupervision of draftsmen, technicians, or engineers assigned to projects as requiredTravel to vendor facilities to evaluate their technical capabilities, etc.Develops, executes, and supports multiple plant projects.Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Customer Focus: Builds confidence among internal and external customers based on commitment and results; committed to increasing customer satisfaction; sets achievable customer expectations; assumes responsibility for solving customer problems; ensures commitments to customers are met; solicits opinions and ideas from customers; accessible and responsive.Project Execution :Uses a disciplined and structured approach to get results; sets challenging goals; prioritizes tasks; identifies and overcomes obstacles; accepts responsibility; sets and meets team standards and responsibilities; provides leadership and/or seeks ways to remain engaged and motivated.Integrity/Ethics: Deals with others in a straightforward and honest manner, conveying both good news and bad; accepts responsibility and is accountable for actions; consistently maintains confidentiality; understands and promotes Company values.Managing for Results: Sets challenging and productive goals and uses a disciplined and structured approach to meet them; consistently delivers on commitments; provides leadership, motivation, and support to teammates; creates systems and procedures to track progress and measure results; overcomes obstacles and accepts accountability.Teamwork: Invested in common objectives and goals; works collaboratively across functions; meets individual deadlines and helps meet team goals; listens to others and values opinions; shares information and resources effectively; welcomes newcomers and promotes a team atmosphere.Education and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/chemical/electrical engineering, or equivalent, required.3-5 years of experience in chemical/paint processing, batching, storage, and mixing systems, required3-5 years of experience in a complex, high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred.Working Conditions:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to do one or more of the following, separately and/or together: stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms, read, write, talk and hear.
