The Opportunity The Employee Benefits Account Management team provides critical support to clients through day‑to‑day program oversight, client advocacy, and systems management. The Account Manager II manages a book of business with high autonomy and facilitates positive relationships with sales, account team colleagues, and clients. Responsibilities Manage all aspects of the account‑service process, working closely with Producers, HUB personnel, and carriers. Acquire and analyze clients’ business and insurance objectives, comparing plans for suitability. Establish and maintain strong business relationships with clients and insurers. Serve as client point of contact for eligibility, claims, billing, and benefit administration inquiries, acting as liaison between clients and carriers. Maintain accurate and organized account files, update systems, and ensure data accuracy. Stay current on industry changes, make recommendations, and attend continuing education. Update open enrollment packets, submit BOR letters, and handle marketing to carriers. Create quotes and proposals, audit billing issues, and reconcile accounts. Gather data, prepare and present Renewal/OE/Post Renewal Debrief presentations, and lead implementation of new and renewal plans. Prepare EB Comp Disclosure and annual legal notices; facilitate HRIS updates and wellness add‑ons. Review contracts line‑by‑line for accuracy, participate in vendor implementations, and initiate vendor payments. Partner with producers to design benefit programs, perform financial analysis, benchmarking, and funding alternatives. Provide training and mentorship to client services team members and oversee less experienced account managers. Perform additional duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; college degree strongly preferred. 3–5 years of benefit insurance account management experience (brokerage preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Life & Health License. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Effective oral and written communication with internal and external customers. Ability to present information to managers, clients, and the general public. Strong knowledge of employee benefits products, related legislation (ACA, COBRA, HIPAA). Critical thinking, problem solving, and logical reasoning. Customer’service orientation and ability to handle difficult situations. Confidence and professionalism when interacting with all levels of the organization. Client‑relationship management and collaboration with vendors. Ability to coach others and develop team skills. Time‑management and prioritization of multiple tasks. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and agency management systems. Ability to calculate figures such as discounts, commissions, percentages. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Primarily a stationary office position with frequent phone and in‑person communication. Requires regular computer use and occasional office movement to access file cabinets and office machinery. Benefits & Compensation Competitive salary range of $75,000–$110,000 depending on location. Comprehensive benefits include health, dental, vision, life, disability insurance, FSA, HSA, 401(k), paid time off, bonuses, equity and commissions for eligible positions.
