Job Summary: The Community Advancement Manager shall provide essential services in planning, organizing, coordinating, and executing STEM education and community advancement initiatives serving youth and communities across the U.S. Virgin Islands. These programs include the STEM Afterschool Program, Summer STEM Program, STEM Innovation Centers (in collaboration with the Virgin Islands Department of Education), STEAM Day events, community engagement activities, and other strategic STEM and Community Advancement initiatives. This role also serves as a key liaison for the Community Advancement team within the St. Thomas/St. John District, supporting local coordination, communication, program implementation, community engagement, and partner relations. Key Duties and Responsibilities Program Planning, Implementation, and Operations Collaborate with the STEM Program Manager and Community Advancement team to plan, implement, and monitor the day-to-day activities of STEM enrichment programs and other Community Advancement initiatives. Coordinate logistics for programming and events across multiple sites, including scheduling, material preparation, transportation, setup, site readiness, and other operational needs. Assist with student supervision, classroom support, event operations, and onsite facilitation during program hours, events, and other activities as needed. Actively participate in team meetings, planning sessions, trainings, debriefs, and problem-solving discussions to improve program efficiency, coordination, participant experience, and overall impact. Support the preparation and execution of special events, partner activities, community outreach events, and other Community Advancement initiatives throughout the territory, with particular responsibility for activities occurring within the St. Thomas/St. John District. District Liaison and Coordination Serve as an on-the-ground liaison for the Community Advancement team in the St. Thomas/St. John District, helping to coordinate activities, communicate program needs and updates, and support the successful implementation of initiatives within the district. Represent and support the Community Advancement team at meetings, community events, school activities, outreach initiatives, partner engagements, and other functions within the St. Thomas/St. John District, as requested. Communicate relevant district-level updates, challenges, opportunities, partner feedback, and program needs to the appropriate Community Advancement team members to support effective coordination and timely decision-making. Partner and Stakeholder Relations Build and maintain positive working relationships with schools, community organizations, government agencies, program partners, facilitators, parents and guardians, vendors, and other stakeholders throughout the St. Thomas/St. John District. Serve as a key point of contact for partners, facilitators, parents and guardians, students, vendors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication. Assist with identifying community needs, partnership opportunities, potential program sites, outreach opportunities, and other resources that may strengthen Community Advancement programming and engagement. Community Engagement, Recruitment, and Outreach Support community engagement, recruitment, and outreach efforts designed to increase awareness, enrollment, participation, and community involvement in STEM and other Community Advancement initiatives. Materials and Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory and coordinate the organization, preparation, distribution, collection, and storage of educational materials, equipment, and supplies across program locations. Program Data, Evaluation, and Reporting Collect, organize, and maintain program data, including attendance, participation information, student and stakeholder feedback, program documentation, and performance metrics to support program evaluation, reporting, and continuous improvement. Photography, Video, and Marketing Coordination Capture clear, high-quality photographs and video footage during programs, events, outreach activities, and other Community Advancement initiatives to document program activities, participant engagement, and program impact, in accordance with applicable organizational policies and participant media consent requirements. Organize and submit photographs, video footage, and other captured content to the Marketing team in a timely manner for use in organizational communications, social media, reporting, storytelling, and promotional efforts. Coordinate with the Marketing team, as needed, to ensure appropriate photo and video content is captured from Community Advancement programs, events, and activities, particularly those occurring within the St. Thomas/St. John District. Safety and Compliance Ensure adherence to all applicable safety, behavioral, site, organizational, and program compliance protocols. Additional Responsibilities - Duties and responsibilities may expand or shift based on programmatic and organizational needs. The Consultant should be prepared to provide additional support for Community Advancement programs, events, partnerships, and related activities as assigned. - Although the Community Advancement Manager’s primary area of support is the St. Thomas/St. John District, the Consultant may be required, upon request, to provide support for programs, events, partnerships, and related activities within the St. Croix District. Required Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, STEM , youth development, community development, program management, public administration, communications, or a related field. At least two years of relevant experience supporting educational programs, youth programming, community engagement, event coordination, program operations, or a related area. Experience coordinating programs, activities, or events involving multiple sites, partners, or stakeholder groups. Experience working with youth, schools, families, community organizations, government agencies, or other community-based partners. Proficiency in standard workplace technology, including Microsoft Office or comparable platforms, email, shared calendars, virtual meeting tools, and electronic file-management systems. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends, based on program and event needs. Ability to travel between program sites throughout the St. Thomas/St. John District and, upon request, to the St. Croix District. Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to successfully satisfy any background screening or other requirements applicable to individuals working with minors. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting STEM education, afterschool programming, summer programs, workforce development, or youth enrichment initiatives. Knowledge of schools, community organizations, government agencies, and community resources within the U.S. Virgin Islands, particularly the St. Thomas/St. John District. Experience collecting, organizing, and reporting program data, including attendance, participant feedback, and performance metrics. Experience capturing photographs and video footage for program documentation, communications, or social media. Training or certification in First Aid, CPR , youth safety, classroom management, or a related area. Physical Demands Physical and Work Requirements Ability to work onsite at schools, program locations, community venues, offices, and outdoor event spaces. Ability to remain standing or moving for extended periods during programs and events. Ability to lift, carry, move, and organize program materials, equipment, and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
