Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager

The Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) is responsible for leading the shift operations within the clinical setting to ensure delivery of high-quality care, exceptional customer experience, and optimal patient flow. In conjunction with Nursing Leadership, the CANM provides guidance, fosters collaboration, and is responsible for the ambulatory and/or outpatient clinical operation(s) including patient care assignments, clinical customer experience, clinical efficiencies, and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include exemplifying the mission, vision, and values of Orlando Health, participating in shared leadership structure, monitoring overall status of patients, coordinating and/or participating in the delivery of patient care, serving as a resource supporting frontline team members and providers, supporting clinical collaboration focusing on patient coordination of care, performing direct patient care activities, interfacing with patients and families to enhance customer experience, participating in and/or leading safety huddles, embracing, communicating, and promoting change and problem solving, assessing equipment needs, supporting and sustaining all leader-driven initiatives, assisting with retention strategies, maintaining a regulatory-ready environment of care, ensuring the appropriate allocation/adjustment of staff, utilizing effective fiscal management skills, maintaining compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, supporting strategic imperatives, serving as a coach and mentor for the nursing team, expressing ideas clearly and effectively, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, promoting a safe working environment, supporting and/or coordinating any follow-up related to WPV occurrences, supporting the Professional Practice Model, possessing superior clinical and critical thinking skills, being a clinical expert and liaison ensuring care is provided congruent with Orlando Health policies and procedures, participating in the collection of unit/department information via audits to identify opportunities for improvement and trends, and promoting high-quality nursing practice supported by evidence base practice, research, organization, and national standards.

Qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred, a minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse, current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, and certification in area of expertise; preferred. May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
