Job Overview: This is machine and trades work in operating motor-driven wheel and track mounted equipment which requires no higher than a Class B license for operation on a public highway. Responsibilities include operating, fueling, and performing routine maintenance on assigned vehicles and devices such as cranes, conveyors, shovels, and loaders mounted thereon. Work is performed under general supervision. Job Duties: Operates light and medium duty trucks in order to haul freight, gravel, snow, and other material from one location to another or to perform tasks such as plowing snow. Fills tank with material and operates equipment in order to apply oils, asphalt, and tars to roadways and parking areas. Operates truck mounted winches and cranes in order to load and unload material. Fills fuel tanks, adds lubricating oils and completes various other tasks in order to maintain equipment in good order. Repairs or assists mechanic in repairing assigned equipment in order to restore it to service as quickly as possible. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of the above knowledges and abilities.
