Job Description

The Assembler I performs basic mechanical assembly work to manufacture products in a cost-effective and timely manner while meeting defined quality standards. This role validates materials before starting assembly, follows detailed work instructions, and builds products according to specifications and tolerances using drawings and schematics. The position involves highly repetitive manufacturing tasks and requires the safe use of hand tools and power tools in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Validate and verify materials and components before starting the assembly process to ensure they meet required specifications.

• Review and follow detailed work instructions, drawings, and schematics to assemble products accurately and consistently.

• Assemble mechanical components and products within specified tolerances and quality standards.

• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to perform mechanical assembly tasks.

• Perform repetitive manufacturing and assembly operations while maintaining focus on quality and efficiency.

• Monitor own work for accuracy, identify defects or issues, and make necessary adjustments or corrections.

• Follow standard operating procedures and production guidelines to meet production goals and timelines.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with workplace safety and housekeeping standards.

• Collaborate with team members and communicate any material shortages, equipment issues, or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.

• Adhere to all safety policies, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment such as steel-toe footwear.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to work with mechanical components.

• Experience using hand tools in a manufacturing or assembly environment.

• Experience using power tools safely and effectively.

• Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and schematics.

• Capability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality and consistency.

• Attention to detail to ensure products meet specifications and tolerances.

• Ability to work scheduled shifts and overtime as needed, including Fridays.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Interest in developing skills to progress through multiple assembler levels (Level 1–3).

• Willingness to learn new assembly processes and adapt to evolving production needs.

• Strong work ethic and reliability in a high-activity manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a brand-new, climate-controlled manufacturing facility designed for comfort and efficiency. Standard workdays are Monday through Thursday, with a first shift running from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and a second shift running from 3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The work involves repetitive mechanical assembly tasks using hand tools and power tools at designated workstations. Safety is a priority, and steel-toe footwear is required as part of the dress code, along with adherence to all site safety policies and procedures.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaver Dam, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $22.25/hr.
