Team Leader - Part-Time (Prior Lake, MN)

Position Summary Scott County Young Life is looking for a part‑time Wyldlife or Young Life team leader. The role will serve Prior Lake High School, Twin Oaks, and Hidden Oaks Middle schools, and will work with groups of kids from NewPrague and Shakopee. The team leader will assist the Area Director to serve teens in the community, lead and facilitate student‑facing events, and manage a team of volunteer leaders. The ideal candidate lives locally in or near Prior Lake. The position is 12–15 hours per week; pay will be determined by experience and qualifications. Anticipated start date: July15,2026. Mission and Faith Commitment Young Life requires all employees to sign a Statement of Faith. The organization’s purpose is to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and to minister as servants of God. Candidates must: (a) profess a belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord, and (b) subscribe to all Young Life policies and the Statement of Faith. Spiritual Development Lead and participate in the spiritual growth of youth, including prayer, fellowship, spiritual disciplines, and health. Develop a yearly personal growth plan to foster a vibrant spiritual life, engage with a church community, and lead teams in spiritual development. Leadership Development Equip leaders and staff with volunteer care, recruitment, team‑building, training, supervision, and vision casting. Meet regularly with volunteer leaders and area leadership, recruit and train new leaders, model excellence in contact work, and assist in developing a yearly ministry strategy. Resource Development Raise financial support, maintain donor care practices, communicate ministry updates, and develop strategic relationships with key adults (principals, pastors, parents, prospective committee members). Assist with camp fundraisers and contribute to a TDS team. Direct Ministry Proclaim and model the gospel through contact work, clubs, campaigners, and camps. Lead a team to implement new or existing clubs and campaigner ministries with excellence. Plan and conduct summer and school‑season camping strategies, and serve on a summer assignment at a Young Life camp each year. Ministry Support Handle accounting, administration, internal communication, data management, and strategic planning. Adhere to policies and procedures, maintain professionalism, manage finances stewardshipfully, keep accurate records of kids, leaders, and donors, and provide clear, prompt communication. Set annual strategic plans and review them regularly. Training and Education Mission‑wide training events include New Staff Training, Winter Training, Focus Conferences, and Young Life University, available upon request. Regional training may be required at the director’s prerogative. Area training includes individualized coaching by the Area Director, focus on personal spiritual maturity, ministry skills, and familiarization with fundraising principles (Basic Elements for Part‑time staff). College degree preferred. Qualifications Proven relational skills with both kids and adults. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
