What to Expect As a Tesla Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment.You will apply your technical skills to install,maintainand repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize oreliminatedowntime. Tesla's Maintenance Technicians are also the first-responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running.
What You'll Do

• Day to day coverage of production line equipment: respond to alarms, breakdowns, andProduction requests quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime
• Diagnose equipment failures, findthe root cause and communicate actions taken to the rest of the team
• Take initiative to improve PM documents and schedules, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor and Leads
• Perform major equipment repairs and rebuilds, (some weekends and holidaysrequired)
• Uses manufacturing systems effectively (MES, Spares Inventory, Issue Tracking)
• Work with Process and Equipment engineering and other cross functional groups to resolve maintenance issues, improve equipment reliability, review procedures, and minimize equipment downtime
• Follows all aspects of Maintenance Safety protocol (LOTO, 5-S, Arc Flash, etc.), to ensure that the maintenance teamoperates safely at all times, always leading by example

What You'll Bring

• 3+ years of experiencemaintaining industrial equipment and automation, or as an Automotive Technician, or technical military experience in lieu of degree, or equivalent experience
• StrongSiemensPLC experience highly desired
• Fanucrobotexperience a plus
• Areas offamiliarity may include one or more of the following: electrical/electronics, mechanical/machining, or automation/PLC/robotics, Atlas Copco, laser welding & dispense systems
• Skilled at troubleshooting automation, conveyance, electromechanical, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems, along with maintaining Cincinannti Test Systems, Chroma & Yioki testers is a plus
• Able to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
• Must have command of English language, both written and verbal

Essential Physical Demands

• Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
• Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
• Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
• Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch,twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
• Climb andmaintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
• Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limitedto: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump cap and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
