Respiratory Therapist

Night Shift Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, 36 hours per week

Job Summary

Responsible for delivering comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care services to patients of all ages, both inpatient and outpatient, under the supervision of the Director of Cardio/Pulmonary/Neurology/Sleep Disorders.

Job Functions

• Perform respiratory care procedures in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
• Evaluate, treat, and re-assess patients of all ages, following physician orders.
• Function independently and assist Physicians and Nursing in determining and applying therapeutic modalities.
• Assist in the orientation and training of respiratory and nursing personnel.
• Participate in the Code Team and Rapid Response Team.
• Provide education to patients and their families.
• Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
• Engage in departmental education activities.
• Transport patients as needed.
• Assist the Director with special projects and inventory control of equipment and supplies.
• Uphold and support patients' rights to care, privacy, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate from a Respiratory Therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) required.
• Previous respiratory therapy experience strongly preferred.
• Prior patient care experience preferred with appropriate clinical rotations during training.
• Must hold NRP certification at the time of submission and upon hiring.
