Chief Financial Officer

A growing, privately held organization in the construction and real estate development space is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer to lead its finance and accounting function and serve as a key business partner to executive leadership. This is an opportunity for an experienced finance leader who understands how project-based businesses make money and can move comfortably between the details of accounting and the bigger-picture financial and operational needs of the organization. The CFO will oversee the accounting and finance function while improving financial visibility, reporting, forecasting, processes, and controls. The right person will be comfortable operating in an entrepreneurial environment where finance is closely connected to day-to-day business operations. Responsibilities Lead accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow activities Oversee month-end and year-end close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting Provide leadership with meaningful visibility into project performance, margins, cash flow, and overall business performance Partner with operational leaders to understand project costs, profitability, labor, and financial trends Strengthen management reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and forecasting tools Evaluate existing accounting processes and implement improvements where needed Oversee multi-entity accounting, intercompany activity, consolidations, and related reporting Manage banking, lending, audit, tax, and other external financial relationships Support financial planning and strategic decision-making as the organization continues to grow Lead and develop the accounting team while remaining willing to get into the details and solve problems when necessary Partner directly with executive leadership on both financial and operational initiatives Evaluate financial systems and identify opportunities to improve processes, automation, and reporting Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field CPA strongly preferred Progressive accounting and finance leadership experience Real estate development, construction, project-based services, or closely related industry experience strongly preferred Strong understanding of project accounting, job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, forecasting, and cash flow Experience working across multiple entities or business units Demonstrated ability to improve accounting processes, reporting, systems, and financial controls ERP implementation or systems conversion experience is highly desirable Strong operational and business-partnering mindset Comfortable working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment Ability to communicate effectively with executives, operational leaders, lenders, and outside partners #J-18808-Ljbffr Partnership Employment
