POSITION SUMMARY
Guards the community's property against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
The following responsibilities have been incorporated into this position. This list is not necessarily all-inclusive, and other special tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as necessary. Patrols, periodically, buildings and grounds community. Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure. Warns violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and apprehends or expels of persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts. Inspects equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred. Watches for reports of irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked. Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property. Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized person. Permits authorized persons to enter property. Register at watch stations to record the time of inspection trips. Records of data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff. Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at plant entrance to maintain orderly flow. Attending to Resident needs and issues as they arise: communicating with appropriate departments to ensure a timely response/resolution. Respond appropriately and according to protocol to the Emergency Alert Pendant System (Atmos). Support a friendly, hospitable and welcoming environment for all residents and their families upon their arrival at the Community. Politely and promptly answer telephone calls. Manage and direct all incoming calls to appropriate personnel and/or transfer to voicemail. Maintain confidentiality of Resident Information. Communicate with all concerns or observation/incident report forms when necessary. Prioritize work and maintain a professional image. Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor. Educational Requirements, Experience and Competencies: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred and; Two years of job-related experience preferred.SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer skills: Basic computer skills are required. Competencies: Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population. Interacts with guests, residents, and staff in a courteous and friendly manner. Responds promptly to resident needs. Supports organization’s goals and values. Balances team and individual responsibilities.ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
Works both outdoors and indoors all year. Possible exposure to hostile individuals. Possible exposure to unpleasant odors. Extensive contact with the public both in person and on the phone. Continuous exposure to residents who are ill, confused, irritable, and irrational.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
