About the Position

Duration: 03 Months to long-term

Shift: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Job Summary:

• Performs all radiographic and mammographic studies. Produces radiographs and organizes images, completes the required paperwork and charges.
• Responsible for patient safety and wellbeing during examinations. Assists and instructs patients during examinations. Assists with clerical duties and mammography regulatory tasks.
• Reports all equipment malfunctions. Cleans and inspects equipment prior to use.

Job Responsibilities: 

• Performs radiologic and mammography examinations in accordance to established protocols.
• Responsible for inspecting and cleaning equipment prior to use.
• Responsible for keeping exam rooms neat and orderly.
• Reports equipment failures and/or malfunctions to supervisor or director.
• Reports all patient complaints, discrepancies to the Supervisor
• Responsible for processing images, completing and organizing paperwork
• Performs required QC as appropriate.
• Adjusts mammography controls as needed prior to schedule start.
• Produces high quality mammography images on all patients including wheelchair and implant patients.
• Confers with the radiologist throughout shift as to proper viewing, imaging and techniques to optimize patient examinations.
• Identifies abnormal breast tissue and repeats exposure or includes additional views to decrease patient anxiety.
• Confirms location of prior examination and contacts prior facility to secure previous mammograms for comparison.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

• High school. Graduate of an AMA approved mammography course.

Experience:

• At one year of experience in mammography /x

Documents required:

• Current California Radiographic and Mammographic Technologist licensure.
