Begin a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students and making a positive difference each day. Located near scenic outdoor spaces, this role offers the chance to work one-on-one with a wonderful 5th grade student at an elementary school known for its welcoming environment.
Bring your compassion, patience, and dedication to a vibrant school setting that values every student. This paraprofessional position operates on a convenient four-day school week, Monday through Thursday, from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm. Enjoy three-day weekends while supporting the academic and social development of a student with a cognitive disability. Your skills and encouragement will be invaluable as you help foster growth and independence.
Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Prior experience as a paraprofessional or in a school support role is highly preferred
- Ability to build rapport with students and staff
- Understanding of cognitive disabilities and strategies for individualized support
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual support to a 5th grade student with a cognitive disability
- Work closely with teachers and specialists to implement instructional plans
- Assist with classroom activities and promote engagement
- Encourage independence and assist with daily living and social skills
- Monitor student progress and maintain open communication with educators
