Details Work in the NICU of a hospital environment Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00 Patient population includes neonates ranging from under 24-28 weeks to over 34 weeks gestation Will float to BPD (bronchopulmonary dysplasia) NICU with average length of stay of 2-3 years, requiring comfort with frequent trach care and heavy parent involvement Floating required to PICU, CV PICU, stepdown, MS unit, and rarely to ED Floating required to other campuses including Riverside, St. Ann's, Grant Medical, Dublin Methodist, and Doctors Hospital Epic charting system experience required Two-part interview process including initial screening with Float Pool Leader followed by unit manager interview Requirements Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand Current certifications: BLS and NRP required, PALS preferred Minimum 1 year of Level IV NICU experience required Minimum 2 years total Level III/IV NICU experience required Required skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal dosage calculations Experience with high-risk delivery attendance, ventilator management, and respiratory distress syndrome care required Experience with neonatal sepsis, isolation precautions, and dysrhythmia interpretation required Two professional references required at time of consideration, at least one must be from a manager or supervisor Cannot have worked in a permanent capacity for this facility within the last 2 years Must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility Additional Information Provide comprehensive NICU nursing care including high-risk delivery attendance and management of complex respiratory, cardiovascular, and neurological conditions Care for neonates requiring specialized interventions such as therapeutic hypothermia, ECMO, high frequency ventilation, and nitric oxide therapy Support families with breastfeeding, colostomy/ileostomy care, and management of conditions such as NEC and gastroschisis Floating to different units and campuses is a strong point of emphasis and requirement for most positions at this facility Must be prepared to comply with facility float expectations and receive appropriate unit assignments American Traveler Job ID P-724740.
