Learning and Development Manager - West Region

Role Summary The Learning & Development Manager will provide leadership and oversight for all training and educational programs. The position will be responsible for overseeing training needs, maintaining records of training activities, and conducting training. All activities will support the strategy, vision, and values of JE Dunn. Key Role Responsibilities – Core Oversee training, teaching, and coaching for a large variety and/or more complex courses. Perform needs analysis with supervisors and employees to determine performance gaps and missed opportunities related to specific roles. Design and develop course content using effective adult learning strategies. Assign instructors to conduct training for internal and external subject matter experts. Complete methodology analysis and make recommendations for senior leadership. Implement recommendations for class participants, timing, and courses for various functions in the business. Support the Learning and Development Director on delivering and deploying overall strategy. May be responsible for managing Learning and Development Specialists. Own and maintain training materials, including developing, improving, and sourcing new materials. Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness. Resolve specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary. Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices. Fiscal Responsibility Maintain fiscal records and follow procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations. Make operational decisions in light of broader financial goals and constraints. Understand the business plan and manage financial goals. Managing Others Inspire teamwork, utilize communication and conflict resolution skills, and model a positive and professional attitude. Communicate goals, motivate performance, facilitate effective meetings, and recognize accomplishments. Assess and manage quality of work produced by the team. Create, monitor, and manage scheduling; direct assignments and goal setting for optimal productivity and resource management. Participate in talent‑management activities, including evaluating performance, providing feedback, recruiting, and addressing employee relations risks. Provide feedback and coaching to support individual performance, learning, and career development. Remove obstacles, solve problems, and address escalated issues to optimize team performance. Act as a change agent, supporting corporate and program change initiatives, and model positive approaches to adapting to change. Additional Core Responsibilities Other duties as assigned. Maintain a professional appearance and workspace. Participate in and comply with all company safety and quality programs and procedures. Relationship‑building and collaboration skills within teams, internally and externally. Education Bachelor’s degree in human resources, instructional design, or a related field (Required). Associate certificate in instructional design (Preferred). Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of the above requirements. Experience 8+ years’ experience in learning and development (Preferred). 5+ years’ experience in building construction (Preferred). Experience with adult learning theory. 5+ years’ experience in facilitation of meetings or groups (Preferred). Working Environment Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds. May require periods of overnight travel. Normal office environment. Frequent activity: Sitting, Viewing Computer Screen. Occasional activity: Standing, Walking, Reaching above Shoulder. Benefits The benefits package for this position is Professional Non‑Union. Base compensation for the Learning & Development Manager role in Denver, CO is between $100,000 and $125,000, depending on experience, and may exceed this range for candidates with exceptional experience and a demonstrated history of successful performance.
