Job Details Level: Entry Job Location: Hammond, IN 46320 Finishing Operator Texas Pipe and Supply Company is a leading distributor of Carbon and Stainless Pipe, Fittings and Flanges Job Summary This position is primarily responsible for threading, grooving, and beveling material that meets industry standards. Qualifications Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours and weekends (if needed) Ability to pass a background check and drug screen Experience in threading, grooving or beveling material Capable of being trained on thread specification and use proper QC tooling Able to pass or fail material that does not meet industry or company standards. Stable work history, preferably in an industrial environment Reliable transportation Committed to always working safely including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation Positive attitude; good team player Responsibilities Machine operation "groover" machine Grooving pipe for 8 hours Runs pipe through machine – pipe is either 20' or 40' in length Pipe is fed into machine from a nearby rack Assist other team members when time allows Any other duties as requested by respective supervisor and/or manager Physical Requirements Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 lbs. occasionally and frequently exert 10 to 20 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, and pull or otherwise move objects Work involves long periods of standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching; may also include climbing ladders and staircases Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions - heat, cold, rain #J-18808-Ljbffr Texas Pipe And Supply Company
