It oversees state prisons, healthcare, facility operations, and probation/parole officers who supervise individuals sentenced to community supervision. Job Overview This School Psychologist will serve as the main point of contact for students in the Youth School at Granville Correctional Institution, providing targeted support in behavioral, academic, and social‑emotional areas to students pursuing a high‑school equivalency diploma. The role requires flexibility, strong student‑support skills, and a collaborative approach to education in a medium‑custody male correctional setting. Responsibilities Collaborate with district and school staff to provide targeted support for struggling students through intervention systems, IEP processes, and other academic supports. Deliver direct and indirect services, including universal screenings, data‑based problem‑solving, intervention development, progress monitoring, and data interpretation. Consult with school staff, families (as appropriate), community partners, and agencies regarding students’ cognitive, academic, social, and behavioral needs, using data to guide decisions and support planning. Organize and deliver counseling, support, transition services, and related educational programming for students of all ages. Create a flexible, supportive learning environment that promotes each student’s growth in the school’s mission and goals. Qualifications Six‑year advanced or higher degree in School Psychology from an accredited college. Current, non‑expired North Carolina Professional Educator’s License (Class Code S or D) with certification in School Psychology or eligibility to obtain an Emergency, Residency, or Provisional Certification. Documented experience implementing the School Psychologists’ Model for Comprehensive and Integrated School Psychological Services and the NC Professional School Psychology Standards. Experience with intervention systems, universal screening, progress monitoring, and data‑based problem‑solving for students with special needs. Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, ADA and related state and federal policies. Experience administering and interpreting formal and informal student assessment measures. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and student information systems.
