We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Material Handler I to support warehouse and production operations. This role is responsible for receiving, storing, identifying, moving, packaging, and shipping materials while maintaining inventory accuracy and following established safety and quality procedures. The position requires close supervision and provides training for assigned responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

• Receive, inspect, and identify incoming materials and parts.
• Store materials in designated warehouse locations.
• Pick and stage materials according to work orders and pick lists.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using company computer systems.
• Perform inventory audits and cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.

Shipping & Receiving

• Prepare materials and products for shipment.
• Package items according to company and customer specifications.
• Generate shipping labels and complete required shipping documentation.
• Ensure products are packaged safely to prevent damage during transit.

Material Handling

• Transport materials between departments using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material handling equipment.
• Repackage materials as needed for safe storage or transportation.
• Stage tooling and materials to support production schedules.
• Maintain organized and clean storage areas.

Additional Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Support continuous improvement (Lean Manufacturing) initiatives.
• Assist in production or sub-assembly areas when required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of warehouse, material handling, shipping/receiving, or related experience , or demonstrated ability to perform the job successfully.
• Experience using warehouse or inventory management software is preferred.
• Forklift experience is preferred. Selected candidates will be required to complete Parker's Powerlift Operator Training.
• Ability to read work instructions, pick lists, blueprints, and related documentation.
• Basic computer skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement practices is a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently walk and move throughout the warehouse and production areas.
• Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 lbs .
• Occasionally climb ladders to retrieve or store materials.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as required.
• Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and moving machinery while following all safety procedures.
