Job Summary:
Under the general direction of the Human Resources Director, the Receptionist answers incoming
calls, takes messages, greets visitors and performs various Human Resources and Finance Department
functions as necessary.

Main Duties/Responsibilities:
• Answers and directs incoming telephone calls; attempts to filter non-business calls
for office and shop personnel.
• Greets visitors, assigns visitor badges, assists visitors in completing safety
orientation document, and locates their contact person.
• Possesses knowledge of posted job openings to accept applications.
• Maintains awareness of staff activities; knows their availability to take calls or visitors on
any particular day.
• Opens gate to east yard, as access to the Paola plant is needed by outside carriers and
contractors.
• Performs various Human Resources and Finance Department duties as needed.
• Enters payroll labor data for the Paola, KS plants daily and other plants as needed.
• Maintains various Excel spreadsheets.
• Opens, date stamps and sorts Accounts Payable mail daily. Assists with other Accounts Payable
duties as needed.

Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is
qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

Education/ Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Professional telephone etiquette and technique
• Excellent attendance and punctuality
• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Accurate typing and data entry skills using Microsoft Office products
• Ten-key calculator by touch
• Effective problem-solving skills
• Good judgment and decision-making abilities
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive manner
• Ability to concentrate in a diverse work setting
• Basic working knowledge of business accounting
• Good working knowledge of office procedures and equipment
