Senior Print & Catalog Designer

Role Summary

Lead the design, organization and production of Valley Vet Supply catalogs from planning through final print delivery. This hands-on role combines strong graphic design with project management to ensure catalogs are accurate, engaging, on brand and delivered on time.

Work closely with Marketing, Category Management, Purchasing and other teams to create catalogs and customer-facing materials that connect customers with the products they need while supporting Valley Vet’s larger marketing and sales goals.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Catalog and Direct Mail Design & Production

· Design and build Valley Vet catalogs, including covers, product pages, promotional features and educational content.

· Create engaging, easy-to-shop layouts that reflect the Valley Vet brand and the needs of our horse, livestock, pet and farm customers.

· Own catalog production from initial page planning through proofing, final files and delivery to the printer.

· Maintain consistency in branding, typography, photography, product presentation and messaging.

· Prepare and review print-ready files for accuracy and printer specifications.

· Procure cover photography and coordinate image selection and approvals.

· Maintain organized catalog files, photography and creative assets.

Planning & Project Management:

· Develop and maintain production schedules for all catalogs, keeping projects organized and on time.

· Serve as the central point of coordination between Marketing, Category Management, Purchasing, Leadership, vendors and printers.

· Clearly communicate deadlines, project status, missing information and potential delays.

· Coordinate product information, promotions, proofs, corrections and approvals throughout the production process.

· Proactively identify issues and keep multiple catalog projects moving simultaneously.

· Partner with Marketing Leadership on annual catalog planning and alignment with broader marketing campaigns.

Brand & Creative Support

· Continually look for ways to improve design, organization and customer experience.

· Stay informed about competitive catalogs, design trends and opportunities to strengthen Valley Vet’s product positioning.

· Develop trade show, sponsorship, advertising and other marketing materials as needed.

· Support label comparison, product worksheets, labeling and other creative projects assigned by the Creative Brand Leader.

Required Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Experience:

o 3+ years of professional graphic design experience, including multi-page print or catalog work.

o Experience working in a DTC e-commerce environment is strongly preferred.

o Experience in retail, equine, livestock, pet or animal health industries is a plus.

Qualifications:

o Strong graphic design skills with experience in catalogs, publications or other multi-page print projects.

o Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.

o Strong understanding of print production and file preparation.

o Excellent organizational and project-management skills.

o Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

o Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

o Strong written and verbal communication skills.

o Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

o Ability to work at a computer for extended periods and move throughout office and warehouse areas as needed.

o This is a professional collaborative, deadline-driven environment with regular interaction with employees, vendors and production partners.

o The employee occasionally works near a warehouse environment and must be cautious of moving forklifts, WAVES and other mechanical equipment
