Civil Engineer – Leadership / Director Track
We are seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with strong civil engineering experience and leadership potential to join our growing consulting team. This is a long-term opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to work alongside current leadership, take ownership of projects and clients, and eventually transition into a Director-level leadership role overseeing the civil engineering practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering projects from planning and design through construction.
- Manage client relationships, project scopes, schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Provide technical oversight for site development, municipal infrastructure, stormwater, utilities, and related civil projects.
- Review plans, specifications, calculations, reports, and technical documents.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and design staff.
- Coordinate with municipalities, regulatory agencies, contractors, and other consultants.
- Assist with business development, proposals, project pursuits, and client growth.
- Work closely with senior leadership to learn and ultimately assume responsibility for the civil engineering group.
- Help establish standards, workflows, and strategic goals for the department.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience preferred.
- Experience with municipal infrastructure, site development, water resources, or related consulting projects.
- Demonstrated project management and client-facing experience.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability and desire to grow into a senior management/director position.
- Experience mentoring engineers and managing multidisciplinary teams is a plus.
