Senior Security Analyst

Senior Security Analyst, Information Security West LA / Malibu, CA (Onsite initially, hybrid after introductory period) | Direct Hire | Full-Time An established institution in the Malibu area is looking for a Senior Security Analyst to join its Information Security team. This is a hands-on role for someone who wants to own real security operations work, not just monitor dashboards, while working closely with the Director of Information Security to protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data. What You’ll Do Manage operational change requests across firewall, IDS, NAC, DHCP, and DNS systems, applying sound judgment on implementation and security impact Perform intrusion detection, vulnerability scanning, and log analysis to identify threats and misconfigurations Own and mature incident handling procedures from preparation through lessons learned Analyze system and network data, then build and present reporting on findings and control effectiveness Consult with technical teams across the organization to embed security best practices into their workflows Collaborate with and provide backup support to other members of the security team What You Bring GCIA (GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst) or SANS 503 preferred; open to candidates willing to obtain certification within their first 6 months 3+ years of IT or Information Security experience Strong TCP/IP knowledge, including access control lists and low-level packet analysis Experience installing and managing Windows systems Familiarity with Perl, Unix command line, and PowerShell Nice to Have Advanced certifications equivalent to SANS 5xx or 6xx courses Experience with data reporting and technical documentation Familiarity with Palo Alto Firewalls, vulnerability management platforms, and NAC solutions This is a great opportunity for a security analyst who wants to build deeper incident response and security engineering expertise within a stable, mission-driven organization. #J-18808-Ljbffr Professional Search Group
