Position: Safety Manager Base work location will be at Client facility in AZ. Position Summary Responsible for developing, implementing and/or administering safety, health, environmental protection, and substance abuse prevention programs affecting employee and public safety, occupational health, fire protection and prevention, and equipment and property protection. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations. This is lead level position requiring independent professional judgment. This position includes technical responsibility for a major phase or component of a regional management of multiple projects or business line support. Principal Accountabilities Serves as a resource for line management to develop and administer proactive prevention programs for accidents and illnesses at various site locations. Travel to sites is required dependent upon need. Provides technical assistance to office and field operations to ensure compliance with applicable international, federal, state and/or company environmental, safety, and health regulations. Keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Conducts compliance evaluations of equipment, structures, and work in progress to ensure that regulatory environmental, safety, and health standards of the company and all applicable codes are followed. Recommends facilities and technological specifications to carry out programs that fulfill the organization’s overall objectives. Prepares and reviews technical reports, correspondence, and procedures manuals. Establishes and maintains licenses and permits as required. Meet applicable regulatory codes and standards where required. Corresponds with internal and external contacts. Internal contacts may include site management, assigned EHS Manager, workers compensation personnel, and operational and functional counterparts. External contacts include clients at work locations and regulatory agencies. This individual exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of their environmental specialty. Under limited supervision, applies accepted policies, practices, and standards to promote the environmental safety and health program and provide solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Performs a variety of complex tasks. Some work is routine and instructions are detailed. Typically reports to a manager or director. Other duties as assigned. Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services in own discipline. Works independently with minimal guidance. Usually determines own work priorities. Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own area. Ability to travel via car or air, as required. Ability to perform all job functions at Company’s office or site. Expertise in MS Office Suite. Qualifications/Experience Education: College degree in a related field is preferred but may be waived if the particular position allows for the acceptance of 8 years or more experience, relevant training and education and is approved by the EHS Manager or Director Experience: Typically has 7-25 years relevant experience Certifications: CHST/OHST/ASP/CSP Preferred Other: Demonstrated ability to work with site operations management where applicable. Requires experience in the EHS field or a closely related field, or equivalent prior training. Essential Job Functions Capacity to think, concentrate and focus for long periods of time, and reason and make sound decisions. Ability to express thoughts orally, and read and write complex documents in the English language Physically able to walk, stoop, lift, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, grasp, balance, hear, talk, visual acuity, wear a mask/respirator, and withstand environmental conditions, etc. Salary In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $54,000 - $154,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
